SCRIPTURE
A community of faithfulness in a culture of compromise, through the practice of Scripture.
We’re surrounded by narratives that compete for our affections, but as followers of Jesus we believe that God’s unfolding story is the only one that leads to true life.
Through the daily practice of reading Scripture, we seek to encounter Jesus in the text. Our prayer is that as we anchor ourselves in His Word we learn to live out the story of God in our city. Reading and meditating on Scripture shapes us, helping us recognise God's voice in the text and live out the story of Jesus in our daily lives.
How we live this out
Start: Join in with BREAD: New Testament reading
BREAD is a simple way to read and reflect on a passage of Scripture each day as a wider community. A good way to get started is to get a copy of the journal (either physical copy or download a free PDF), and build the habit of reading the New Testament passage each day, following the steps.
Suggested: Join in with BREAD: Old Testament, Psalms, and New Testament readings
Most days in the BREAD reading plan feature a New Testament passage, and a Psalm and Old Testament reading to reflect on. This gives a broader picture of God’s story through Scripture.
