Community - Rule of Life

COMMUNITY

A community of love and depth in a culture of individualism and superficiality, through the practice of community.

Instead of living a life turned in on ourselves, Jesus invites us to live a life turned outwards, with love for God and love for one another. The practice of community forms us into the image of a relational God and teaches us how to share our lives with those different from ourselves.

How we live this out

Start*: Join and serve at one of our four congregations

Part of belonging at KXC means choosing one of our four Sunday congregations to be part of, and regularly attending that service. It also involves helping out through one of our Sunday serve teams, which is a great way to get to know others too.

Suggested*: Join and serve at one of our four congregations and belong to a Hub

As well as the above, we practise community by belonging to one of our Hubs: our smaller mid-week gatherings in homes across London where we grow in faith and friendship. We’re working on making more Hub spaces available to help with this!

*The Start version is a good way to get going, while the Suggested version is our shared practice.

Here are some resources and other ways to get involved in the practice of Community. Please note that we’ll be updating this page with more resources as we go.

  • Community – Emma Sowden. Part of KXC’s Practising the Way series in Nov 2024. Note: some of the language we use around the Rule of Life may have been updated since this series.

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4-5
