BAPTISM

Baptisms are a highlight at KXC! Through them, we welcome new brothers and sisters into the worldwide family of faith, and into our community here at KXC. Followers of Jesus have been getting baptised for thousands of years, following in his example (Matthew 3:13-17) and in obedience to his command, as given to his very first followers (Matthew 28:19).

Baptism is a simple act with huge meaning - in going under the water, we demonstrate participation in Jesus’ death, and in coming up out of it we demonstrate our participation in His resurrection. It is a key moment in the life of every believer, as well as for our wider church family.

If you’re interested in getting baptised at KXC, we want to support you by discerning whether this is the right next step for you. Please let us know a bit about you in the form below, and we’ll be in touch.

Baptism FAQs

  • We aim to have a baptism service every 3-4 months or so. They typically happen at our 5pm service which is held at the the Ethiopian Christian Fellowship Church in King’s Cross.

  • Wonderful! We are happy to support with reaffirming those baptismal vows. This follows a similar process as a first-time baptism at KXC, with a few tweaks. If you’re interested in this, please fill out the form above.

  • An important part of baptism at KXC is committing to live out our faith in community here. So this is for those who call KXC their church home. If you’re part of another church elsewhere, that’s brilliant! We’d encourage you to get in touch there about getting baptised.

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
