JOIN A SERVE TEAM
Serving is one of the joys of belonging in church family! Everything that happens at KXC is possible only because of our amazing teams of volunteers who choose to love and serve our community.
We’d love to invite you to use your gifts and passions to play your part. It’s a brilliant way to grow and make friends along the way too! There's a huge variety of KXC Serve teams you can join, including on Sundays and during the week in the local community.
SUNDAY TEAMS
Our Sunday teams help create an atmosphere where people of all ages feel welcomed and able to meet with God. Generally, team members will serve on a rota once a month and we try to match you with the service you attend as much as possible.
WELCOME & CAFE
Our Welcome Team hosts people and helps them connect, and the Cafe team serves hot drinks and snacks. At our 5pm service, we have a Post-Host Team to help people get to the Big Chill to join us for a drink.
SETUP & PACK DOWN
Help with the hands-on part of creating a welcoming space, like setting up chairs, equipment and signage. There’s Setup before the 9:30am service and Pack Down after the 3pm service.
KIDS
The Kids Team creates a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children can learn about God's love. We facilitate interactive lessons, lead worship, do fun crafts and build meaningful connections with the kids.
YOUTH
The Youth Team serves our 11-18s at KXC through things like Monday Football, Tuesday Girls Bible Study, Wednesday Night Youth, Sundays, wider gatherings and mentoring. Youth Team is currently full.
PRODUCTION
Our Production Team enables everyone who joins us (both in-person and online) to hear, see, and be a part of what is happening. This includes our Sound, Visuals, Stream and Overflow teams.
WORSHIP
The KXC worship team leads us in our collective expression of adoration, prayer and praise to God. One of the key ways we do this is through sung worship. We’re particularly looking for electric guitar and bass players.
Door Team
The Door Team are positioned to provide a warm welcome to those who are more vulnerable in our community, alongside providing a layer of safety and support. We’re particularly looking for men to join this team.
COMMUNITY & OUTREACH
We want to reflect the love of Jesus in our local community. We do this by partnering with organisations or running initiatives that serve and love our neighbours, getting to know them and investing in their well-being. Most of our teams run on a monthly rota.
KING’S HOUSE CAFE
King’s House cafe is open for those in the community. Volunteers prepare and serve hot drinks, chat with people coming into the space, offer prayer, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
Thurs 2-5pm
CHOICES BOUTIQUE
Choices Islington supports people facing an unplanned pregnancy. Volunteers help the Choices Boutique manage donations or run appointments to give pre-loved baby clothes and equipment to families who need them.
Fri 10am-1pm or Mon daytime.
REFUGEE FOOTBALL
We offer free football to male refugees and asylum seekers. Join our team to help connect through playing football.
Tuesdays 8-9pm in Kings Cross.
ESOL CLASSES
We host multiple groups of local refugees and asylum seekers looking to improve their English. Our team helps to facilitate the space and assist with the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes.
Thursdays 7:30-9:15pm, Kings House
INTERNATIONAL CAFE
Based around games and conversation, this is a space to provide support and build friendships with refugees and people seeking asylum in the local area. Volunteers help set up and pack down, serve tea/coffee, and host guests.
Saturdays, 10am-1:30pm at King’s House
LITTLE HAVEN
Little Haven is a relaxed and welcoming place for parents and carers to meet and get to know one another, and for children ages 0-4 to play and have fun in a safe environment. Our team helps to set up and pack down, and host the space.
Mondays, 10-11.30am, King’s House
GROWING HOPE
Growing Hope provides free therapy for children with additional needs, and also has several volunteering opportunities: Sundays Kids Team (9.00am – 12.30pm Sundays), Sundays Befriending: (10.00am – 12.30pm), and Childcare during Parenting Courses - weekday mornings (various).
PENTONVILLE PRISON
KXC supports the Chaplaincy team in HMP Pentonville by providing a team to assist with the Alpha Course and one of their Sunday services.
Wednesdays, 1.00pm-4.30pm, and second Sunday of each month, 8.30am – 10:30am
ALPHA TEAM
Alpha is a series of dinners and discussions that freely explore the Christian faith. Our team makes this happen by setting up, welcoming guests, hosting discussions, or helping with food prep.

OTHER WAYS TO SERVE
Big Wednesdays are for those new to faith and to KXC, with three courses under one roof! We’re looking for volunteers to help with Alpha, Faith Foundations, Newcomers, or with practical things to make the nights run smoothly.
