FAST & GIVE

FAST&GIVE

23 MARCH-5 APRIL

“When you fast, do not look sombre as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:16-18

THE INVITATION

As a church, we’re leaning into a call to Fast & Give together in the lead up to Easter. To hear the vision behind this, watch the video above.

You may not be able to do the whole fast, but don’t worry. Focus on how you can join in. All of us will be able to do something as we fast, give and seek breakthroughs together in the key areas Pete outlined.

If you’d like to give, visit our Giving page.

WHAT IS FASTING?

Fasting is the practice of abstaining from food (or something else) for a set period of time in order to focus on God. The practice integrates our whole body into life with God as we recognise that our deepest hunger is for His presence. Fasting is how we pray with our bodies, asking that God would consecrate us and align our hearts and desires with his.

To learn out more, watch Pete’s talk on Fasting. More resources on fasting can be found on our RULE OF LIFE page. An overview of our shared set of practices that help shape us and our everyday lives in the way of Jesus.
