Michael Ramsden explores the issue of love and judgement – if God is so loving then why do we read so much about judgement? Is there a loving God? Is God trustworthy? Michael suggests that real love doesn’t exist in the absence of judgement, it exists in the presence of it. The words “I love you” are meaningful when the person who speaks them knows the truth about you – when they know your weaknesses and shortcomings yet still choose to love you – and that’s precisely the way in which God loves us.
Michael is the International Director for RZIM and Director of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.
